Finger Lakes West Girls Soccer Sectionals!

Section V girls soccer sectional kick off on Tuesday with opening round action, and here is how the Finger Lakes West shakes out.

In C1 action #7 Bloomfield Bombers finished the regular season at 6-4-2 losing their final two games at home to Waterloo (6-7) and FLW Champions Honeoye (8-1-2). They will play #10 Pembroke (4-9) who also closed their season down with two road losses against Byron-Bergen (9-4) and Holley (10-1-2). The Dragons are 1-5 on the road, and the Bombers are 2-3-2 at home.

#8 Marcus Whitman (5-4-2) will host #9 Canisteo-Greenwood (6-4) at FLCC. MW has not lost since October 17th when they lost at Naples 2-1. They are coming off of a season final 1-0 win at FLCC over that same Naples team. C-G is coming off of being blanked in their last two games on the road at Addison (6-1) and Alfred-Almond (6-2). C-G is 3-2 on the road, and MW is 3-3 at FLCC.

#11 Red Jacket (1-8-1) will play at #6 Addison (6-1). Addison’s one loss came in their season finale at home 2-1 being spoiled by Arkport (8-1). Red Jacket closed out their campaign with a 1-1 tie with Dundee/Bradford at FLCC. RJ is 1-4 in roadies, and Addison is 4-1 in homies.

In C2 bracket #4 Naples (6-4) will host #13 Pavilion (2-10). Naples finished their reg szn losing three of their last four to Bloomfield, Honeoye, and Marcus Whitman. The Golden Gophers are coming off of losing their last two at Warsaw (9-2-1) and versus Dansville (4-5-3). Pavilion is 2-4 away and Naples is 3-2 at The Schenk.

#14 Dundee/Bradford (0-8-1) will take on #3 Red Creek (7-4). DB closed out their season with a 1-1 tie with Red Jacket at FLCC. Red Creek is 4-1 in their last five coming off of three wins over North Rose-Wolcott (4-7), Marion (4-3-1), and Hannibal. DB is 0-4-1 on the road, and RC is 3-2 at home.

Our final Finger Lakes West team is this season’s league champions out of Honeoye (8-1-2) who is the #2 seed in Class D1 and will play #7 Genesee Valley (9-4) on the 14th. The Bulldogs only loss was at home 2-1 to Naples on October 10th and they went 3-0-2 in their last five. GV finished 4-1 in their last five and are coming off a 2-1 season finale loss against 2-5-2 Wellsville. Honeoye is 3-1-1 at home while GV is 6-1 in roadies.
